South Africa Women Embark on All-Format Tour of India

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the schedule for the much-anticipated tour by the South Africa Women's cricket team. The tour, sponsored by IDFC First Bank, will see the two teams battle it out across all three formats – ODIs, Tests, and T20Is.

A Balanced Fixture List

India will play host to South Africa in a three-match ODI series, a one-off Test match, and a three-match T20I series. The tour kicks off in Bengaluru with the ODIs scheduled for June 16th, 19th, and 23rd, respectively. These matches hold importance as they are part of the ongoing 2022-2025 ICC Women's Championship, which acts as a qualification pathway for the 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup.

Following the ODIs, the scene shifts to Chennai. The historic M. A. Chidambaram Stadium will host the marquee four-day Test match from June 28th to July 1st. This Test match is a welcome addition to the tour schedule, highlighting the BCCI and Cricket South Africa's (CSA) commitment to promoting women's Test cricket.

The tour concludes with a three-match T20I series, also played in Chennai. The T20Is are scheduled for July 5th, 7th, and 9th. This series will provide both teams with valuable preparation ahead of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, which will be held in Bangladesh later this year.
