England Women secured a convincing 65-run victory over Pakistan Women in the second T20I at Northampton, clinching an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Electing to bat first, England encountered an early setback with opener Danielle Wyatt dismissed cheaply. However, a crucial 49-run partnership between Alice Capsey (31) and Maia Bouchier stabilized the innings. Pakistan clawed their way back after the drinks break, with Diana Baig effecting a sharp run-out to dismiss Bouchier.

Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, England managed to post a competitive total of 144/6 thanks to a late cameo from Danielle Gibson (18* off 9 deliveries). Nat Sciver-Brunt (31 off 21) also chipped in with a valuable contribution. Pakistan's Nida Dar (2/33) emerged as the most economical bowler for the visitors.

Pakistan's batting reply lacked momentum from the outset. Lauren Bell's impactful second over, claiming the scalps of Gul Feroza and Sadaf Shamas, put them on the back foot. While Muneeba Ali provided a brief spark with a quickfire 18 (12), wickets continued to tumble at regular intervals.

England's bowling attack, orchestrated by a stellar performance from Sophie Ecclestone (3/11), proved too potent for Pakistan. The young spinner showcased her talent, restricting the opponent's scoring and picking up crucial wickets. Alice Capsey (2/4) impressed with her bowling as well, while Sarah Glenn and Lauren Bell chipped in with two wickets each.

Pakistan's batting response faltered under pressure. Only Aliya Riaz (19) offered any significant resistance. Fatima Sana and Diana Baig departed cheaply, leaving Waheeda Akhtar and Nashra Sandhu to provide a brief fightback. However, Waheeda's dismissal extinguished any hopes of an unlikely victory, and Pakistan were eventually bowled out for a meager 79 runs.

This comprehensive victory underlines England's dominance in the series. They displayed strong batting fundamentals, with key contributions from Capsey, Sciver-Brunt, and Gibson. The bowling attack, spearheaded by Ecclestone, was disciplined and effective throughout the chase. Pakistan will need to address their batting inconsistencies and tighten their bowling if they are to challenge England in the remaining T20I.
