West Indies cricket announces the international fixtures for the year 2024
The remainder of 2024 promises to be a thrilling ride for West Indies cricket fans, with their national team set to host three major tours featuring a diverse mix of Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
The action kicks off in May with a high-octane T20I series against South Africa in Jamaica. This three-match battle will serve as a crucial warm-up for the West Indies team before they co-host the prestigious ICC Men's T20 World Cup alongside the USA. Expect explosive batting displays, nail-biting finishes, and a taste of what's to come in the global tournament.
Following the adrenaline rush of the T20 World Cup, the spotlight shifts to the traditional format of Test cricket in July. The Windies will embark on a tour of England, where they'll face off against their historical rivals in a five-day battle of strategy and resilience.
Upon their return to the Caribbean shores in August, the Windies will renew their rivalry with South Africa. This time, the Proteas will be back for a two-match Test series, where both teams will strive to showcase their dominance in the longer format. The series will be followed by another exciting three-match T20I showdown, offering fans another chance to witness the power-hitting prowess of both sides.
After a white-ball tour to Sri Lanka in October, the West Indies will prepare to welcome another cricketing giant – England. This marquee series will see England tour the Caribbean for a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. Cricket lovers across Antigua, Barbados, and Saint Lucia can gear up for a festival of sixes, breathtaking displays of fielding, and thrilling contests between two of the sport's most passionate teams.
Bangladesh will be the final team to grace the West Indies with their presence in November and December. The Tigers will embark on a full tour, playing two Test matches, three ODIs, and three T20Is. This series holds a special significance for Saint Vincent, as the Arnos Vale ground will have the honor of hosting the final three T20I matches, marking the first time the island nation has staged a T20I since 2012.
