Bengaluru, India: The Indian Women's Cricket Team secured a thrilling series victory over South Africa with a narrow 4-run win in the second ODI at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday.

Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma gave India a flying start, with Mandhana scoring her second consecutive century (136) and Verma chipping in with a 20-run knock. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur continued her resurgence in form with a powerful unbeaten century (103), guiding India to a mammoth total of 325/3. Nonkululeko Mlaba and Masabata Klaas were the only South African bowlers to pick up wickets.

South Africa's chase began brightly, with captain Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp stitching together a record-breaking 184-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Both batters reached individual centuries, marking the first time in Women's ODI history that four players from both teams had scored hundreds in a single match. However, the Proteas batting order crumbled after Kapp's dismissal for 114. Wolvaardt remained unbeaten on a valiant 135, but her knock ultimately fell short as South Africa fell agonizingly close with 321 runs on the board.

Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar were the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming two wickets each. Notably, Smriti Mandhana added a wicket to her century, dismissing Sune Luus in her first over of Women's ODI bowling.
