In a thrilling start to the multi-format series, Tahlia Wilson's impressive performance helped Australia A secure a narrow five-run victory over India A in the first T20I at Allan Border Field.
Wilson, typically seen behind the stumps, showcased her batting prowess with a rapid 50 off 34 balls. Her efforts, alongside Katie Mack’s 39 off 31, laid a strong foundation for Australia A's total of 5-163.

Despite a middle-order collapse, Nicole Faltum (25* off 16) and Maddy Darke (23* off 16) provided a late surge. Without the gloves for this series, Wilson demonstrated her versatility in the field, while Faltum and Darke handled the wicketkeeping duties.

India A's chase was anchored by Priya Punia’s valiant 79 off 59 balls, but tight bowling, particularly from Sophie Day and Maitlan Brown, restricted the visitors to 158-6. Skipper Tahlia McGrath successfully defended 16 runs in the final over.

Wilson's focus remains on maintaining her attacking form in the remaining T20s, aiming to further solidify her case as a versatile player for future Australian selections.

Australia A leads the three-game T20 series 1-0, with the next matches scheduled for August 9 and 11 at Allan Border Field.
