Pakistan took control of the third and final Test match against England, dominating the second day's play. A brilliant century from Saud Shakeel and a late flourish from Sajid Khan propelled Pakistan to a formidable total of 344, leaving England with a challenging task.
Resuming the day on 193/3, Pakistan lost early wickets of Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan. However, Saud Shakeel anchored the innings with a patient and composed century. He formed crucial partnerships with Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan to guide Pakistan to a strong total.
England's bowlers struggled to contain the Pakistani batsmen, with Rehan Ahmed being the pick of the bowlers, taking four wickets.
In reply, England's top order was dismantled by the Pakistan spin attack. The visitors lost three quick wickets and ended the day on 24/3, trailing by 53 runs.
With Pakistan holding a significant advantage, the third day promises to be a crucial one. England will need to fight back hard to salvage the Test match.
