The West Indies Senior Men’s T20I squad has announced the inclusion of left-arm seamer Obed McCoy as a replacement for medium-pacer Matthew Forde for the remainder of the five-match T20I series against England.
Forde, who was named Player of the Series in the preceding ODI leg where the West Indies triumphed, sustained a left thigh injury during a training session on Wednesday, November 13, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium. The 22-year-old pacer is undergoing treatment and will continue to be monitored by the medical team as he works towards a full recovery.
McCoy, who was initially unavailable due to an injury sustained during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), has now been deemed fit to return to play. The experienced left-arm seamer has taken 49 wickets in 38 T20 Internationals and is expected to bolster the West Indies bowling attack for the crucial back-to-back matches scheduled over the weekend to conclude the Rivalry series.
