In a high-octane clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Capitals emerged victorious in a nerve-wracking thriller against the Gujarat Titans. The match witnessed outstanding performances from Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Tristan Stubbs in a gripping battle between bat and ball that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Batting first after being put into bat, Delhi Capitals got off to a blazing start with Jake Fraser-McGurk and Prithvi Shaw setting the tone early on. However, Sandeep Warrier's fiery spell rattled Delhi's top order, claiming three crucial wickets in the Powerplay. Axar Patel's promotion up the order proved to be a masterstroke as he combined forces with captain Rishabh Pant to resurrect the innings. Their 113-run partnership for the fourth wicket was the cornerstone of Delhi's formidable total of 224/4 in 20 overs. Axar's explosive 66 off 43 balls and Pant's scintillating unbeaten 88 off 43 deliveries dismantled the Gujarat Titans' bowling attack.
In response, the Gujarat Titans started their chase on a shaky note, losing skipper Shubman Gill early. However, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan steadied the innings with a solid partnership, keeping the Titans in the hunt. Despite contributions from David Miller and Sai Kishore off 55 off 23 & 65 off 39 respectively, the Titans faced an uphill task in the final over, needing 19 runs to win.
