In a gripping Test match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Day 4 saw Angelo Mathews and Prabath Jayasuriya lead Sri Lanka's charge, posting over 150 runs before the declaration at 157-7. Hasan Mahmud and Khaled Ahmed starred with the ball for Bangladesh, taking multiple wickets.

In response to Sri Lanka's target of  511, Bangladesh's openers Zakir Hasan and Mahmudul Hasan Joy showed resilience but lost wickets post-lunch. Mominul Haque's aggressive half-century and partnerships with Shakib Al Hasan and Litton Das showcased Bangladesh's fighting spirit. Mehidy Hasan Miraz's late onslaught added crucial runs as Bangladesh ended the day at 268/7. He Remain unbeaten on 44 runs alongside Taijul Islam. 

Sri Lanka's bowlers, including Kamindu Mendis with his maiden Test wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, maintained pressure despite Bangladesh's resistance. Lahiru Kumara and Prabath Jayasuriya also contributed with key wickets.
