In a high-scoring encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Indians showcased their batting prowess to post a formidable total of 234/5 after being put in to bat by the Delhi Capitals. The star of the show was Romario Shepherd, whose explosive 10-ball 39, including 32 runs in the final over by Anrich Nortje, stole the limelight.



The opening pair of Rohit Sharma (49) and Ishan Kishan (42) laid a strong foundation with an 80-run partnership in just 7 overs, setting the stage for a massive total. However, quick wickets of Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav by Axar Patel and Nortje provided some respite for DC. Hardik Pandya's valuable 39 and late fireworks from Tim David (45*) and Romario Shepherd powered MI past the 200-run mark.

In response, the Delhi Capitals faced an uphill task chasing the mammoth target. Despite contributions from Abishek Porel, Prithvi Shaw's brisk fifty, and a sensational 71* off 25 balls from Tristan Stubbs, they fell short of the target. Jasprit Bumrah's impeccable bowling, including a crucial yorker to dismiss Shaw, and his overall control in the death overs made a significant difference.
