The Windies kicked off their T20 World Cup prep in style, crushing South Africa by a convincing 28 runs in the first T20I at Sabina Park.

South Africa chose to field first, but their plan hit a snag early when debutant Lutho Baartman got Johnson Charles out. That joy was short-lived though, as West Indies captain Brandon King went beast mode, smashing a crazy 79 runs off just 45 balls! Kyle Mayers and Roston Chase chipped in with handy knocks to put the Windies at a strong 175/8 after 20 overs.

South Africa's chase was a horror show from the start. They lost Quinton de Kock on the second ball, and things just went downhill from there. Reeza Hendricks tried his best with a brilliant 87 runs, but the rest of the batting order just couldn't handle the Windies bowlers. Gudakesh Motie (3/25) and Matthew Forde (3/27) were on fire, taking crucial wickets. Obed McCoy (2/15) wasn't far behind, and even debutant Shamar Joseph got a wicket! South Africa limped to a disappointing 147/8, handing the Windies a comfortable win.

This big victory is a great confidence booster for the Windies as they gear up for the World Cup. South Africa, on the other hand, will need to go back to the drawing board and fix their batting woes before the next match!
