On day two of the Test match, England took firm control, extending their lead to 94 runs over the West Indies.

Resuming at 227/5, Joe Root and Ollie Pope's partnership was interrupted early when Shamar Joseph dismissed Pope for 10. Harry Brook's brief innings ended with an edge to the keeper, but Root and Ben Stokes steadied the ship with a solid stand. Root, surpassing Brian Lara in the Test runs tally, reached his 63rd fifty, while Stokes also brought up a half-century before falling to a short ball from Alzarri Joseph.

Root was dismissed for 87 by Gudakesh Motie, and Jamie Smith, who scored a brisk 50, partnered with Chris Woakes. Smith was out for 95, just shy of his maiden Test century, while Woakes made 62. England finished their innings at 376, with Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph claiming four and three wickets respectively.

In their second innings, West Indies faltered, losing skipper Kraigg Brathwaite for a duck and Kirk McKenzie for eight. Mikyle Louis and Alick Athanaze closed the day at 33/2, trailing by 61 runs.
