India clinched victory in a thrilling Super Over finish, sealing a 3-0 series sweep over Sri Lanka.

Head Coach Gautam Gambhir and new full-time skipper Suryakumar Yadav marked the start of a new era with an exciting win. Rain delayed the start by 60 minutes, and Sri Lanka chose to field. India struggled early, losing four wickets in the powerplay and were 48/5 in 8.4 overs. Shubman Gill (39 off 37) and Riyan Parag (26 off 18) added a crucial 54-run stand, helping India reach 137/9 in 20 overs. Maheesh Theekshana shone with the ball, claiming 3/28.

Sri Lanka began steadily with Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis adding 58 runs. Ravi Bishnoi broke the partnership, and despite another solid stand, Sri Lanka stumbled. They needed 21 from 18 balls but faltered, ending at 137/8. Sundar (2/23), Bishnoi (2/38), Rinku Singh (2/3), and Suryakumar Yadav (2/5) were India's key bowlers.

In the Super Over, Washington Sundar restricted Sri Lanka to 2 runs and took two wickets. Suryakumar Yadav, alongside Shubman Gill, finished the chase with a boundary on the first ball bowled by Theekshana, securing an unexpected yet thrilling win for India.
