India kicked off the GG and SKY era with a commanding 43-run win against Sri Lanka in their latest T20 match. Sri Lanka, chasing a daunting target of 214, was bowled out for 170 in 19.2 overs.

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bowl, but Indian openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal laid a solid foundation with 74 runs in the powerplay. Gill fell on the last ball of the 6th over, and Jaiswal followed immediately. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (58) and Rishabh Pant (49) then added 76 runs for the third wicket. Despite a late-innings collapse, Axar Patel's last-ball six ensured India reached 213/7. Matheesha Pathirana shone with the ball, taking 4/40.

In reply, Sri Lanka started strongly with an 84-run partnership between Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis. However, Mendis’s dismissal by Arshdeep Singh led to a dramatic middle-order collapse. Riyan Parag was exceptional with 3/5 in 1.2 overs, while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel took two wickets each.

This victory sets a positive tone for India, highlighting strong performances from both batsmen and bowlers as they look forward to continuing their winning momentum.
