Pakistan kept their Women's Asia Cup hopes alive with a commanding nine-wicket win over Nepal in Dambulla.
Sent in to bat, Nepal started briskly but were hampered by Pakistan’s disciplined bowling and sharp fielding, resulting in three run-outs. Despite a strong finish, Nepal managed only 108 for 6, with Kabita Joshi top-scoring at 31* and Sita Rana Magar contributing 26. Sadia Iqbal’s double-strike in the fifth over further dented Nepal's progress.
In response, Pakistan’s Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali blitzed to a 105-run partnership in just 11.2 overs. Feroza's aggressive 57 off 35 balls and Muneeba's steady 46* off 34 ensured Pakistan's victory. The win boosted Pakistan's net run-rate to 0.409, lifting them to second place on the points table.
Pakistan’s comprehensive win keeps them in contention following their opening defeat to India, while Nepal's positive opening and late flourish weren’t enough to challenge the clinical Pakistani side.
