Sri Lanka Names ODI Squad to Face India with New Skipper

 

Sri Lanka has confirmed a 16-player squad for the upcoming ODI series against India, with Charith Asalanka taking on the captaincy role. The three-match series is set to commence on August 2 in Colombo.

The squad features 24-year-old Nishan Madushka, who has made a strong start to his Test career. In his eight Test matches, Madushka has already achieved a double century, boasting an impressive average of 42.07. His inclusion brings fresh talent and promise to the ODI lineup.

Unfortunately, Sri Lanka will be without Dushmantha Chameera, who remains sidelined due to bronchitis and a respiratory infection, as well as Nuwan Thushara, who fractured his thumb during training.
