Australia has announced a 15-player squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup in the UAE, with Darcie Brown making her return from injury. Alyssa Healy will lead the side in her first World Cup as skipper, supported by vice-captain Tahlia McGrath.

Brown, who missed the March tour of Bangladesh, rejoins the squad, forming a formidable pace duo with Tayla Vlaeminck. The squad also includes young talent Phoebe Litchfield, set for her first ICC tournament. However, there is no place for in-form spinner Jess Jonassen, despite her strong performances in the Women's Premier League and The Hundred.

Australia will warm up with three home T20Is against New Zealand in Mackay and Brisbane next month, before heading to the UAE. The ICC is yet to finalize the World Cup schedule after moving the event from Bangladesh due to civil unrest.

Australia's squad:

Alyssa Healy (c), Tahlia McGrath (vc), Darcie Brown, Ashleigh Gardner, Kim Garth, Grace Harris, Alana King, Phoebe Litchfield, Sophie Molineux, Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Tayla Vlaeminck.

The T20I series against New Zealand begins on September 19 in Mackay, with the World Cup fixtures to be confirmed soon.
