South Africa has emerged victorious in the two-match Test series against the West Indies, winning the series decider by 40 runs.

South Africa, opting to bat first, had a rocky start, but a crucial 63-run partnership between Nandre Burger and Dane Piedt helped them reach a total of 160. Shamar Joseph was the standout bowler for the West Indies, claiming his first Five-Wicket Haul on home soil.

In response, the West Indies struggled against the South African seamers, losing wickets at regular intervals. However, a 40-run partnership between Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph reduced the deficit, and the West Indies were eventually bowled out for 144.

The second innings saw South Africa add a 79-run opening start, followed by a significant 85-run partnership between Kyle Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder. The West Indies fought back, but the damage was already done, and they were set a target of 263 runs in the fourth innings.

The West Indies had a poor start, losing wickets regularly. A crucial 77-run partnership for the seventh wicket between Joshua da Silva and Gudakesh Motie kept their hopes alive. However, South Africa's Keshav Maharaj picked up three wickets, including the crucial wicket of Jayden Seales, to seal the match for his team.

This hard-fought series saw exceptional performances from both sides, with South Africa's Keshav Maharaj being named the Player of the Series and Wiaan Mulder being awarded the Player of the Match. The series win marks a significant milestone for South Africa in their transition phase.
