In a thrilling display of cricket, Australia secured a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series against Scotland, winning the second match by 70 runs. The match, played at The Grange, was delayed by 30 minutes due to an eerie fog that descended upon Edinburgh.

Josh Inglis was the star of the show, smashing the fastest T20 international century for Australia from just 43 balls. This remarkable innings surpassed the previous record held by Alyssa Healy against Sri Lanka in 2019. Inglis's century, coupled with Cameron Green's 36 off 29 balls, helped Australia post a formidable total of 4-196 from their 20 overs.

Scotland, despite the best efforts of Brandon McMullen (59 off 42), struggled to keep up with the run rate and were eventually bowled out for 126 in the 17th over. Marcus Stoinis was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking 4-23, while Xavier Bartlett, Aaron Hardie, Sean Abbott, and Adam Zampa each picked up a wicket.

Inglis, who was awarded the player of the match, expressed his delight at holding the record. He said, "To hold that record is really nice. There was a bit happening early on; we lost a couple of early wickets, so we spoke about building a partnership. Once the new ball wore down, it got easier to bat."

The third T20 will be played on Saturday, giving Scotland a quick chance at redemption. The Qantas Tour of the UK 2024, which includes both T20 and ODI matches, is being broadcast live and exclusive on Foxtel and Kayo Sports.

In related news, Nathan Ellis has been ruled out of the UK tour due to a hamstring injury. The Australian squads for both T20 and ODI matches are announced, with Mitch Marsh leading the T20 side and Steve Smith in the ODI squad.
