Earlier in the day, Mitchell Marsh, the Australian captain, won the toss and chose to field first. Brendon McMullen was the standout performer for Scotland, scoring a commendable 56 off 39 balls. However, the rest of the Scottish batters struggled to make an impact, with Scotland finishing their innings at 149/9 from 20 overs.
