In a thrilling T20 international match on Wednesday, Australia's Travis Head set a new record as he smashed 80 runs from just 25 balls to lead his team to a dominant 7-wicket victory over Scotland.

Chasing Scotland's total of 154, Australia's innings got off to a shaky start with the early dismissal of Jake Fraser-McGurk. However, Head and captain Mitchell Marsh quickly turned things around, launching a brutal assault on the Scottish bowlers.

Head's innings was nothing short of sensational. He hit five sixes and 12 fours, including a remarkable 30 runs from a single over against Jack Jarvis. His half-century came from just 17 balls, setting a new record for the fastest T20 fifty for Australia.

Marsh also contributed significantly, scoring 39 runs from his innings, including a 30-run over against Jarvis. The duo's partnership helped Australia reach 113 for one from the first six overs, the highest-ever T20 international first powerplay score.

While both Head and Marsh were eventually dismissed by Mark Watt in the seventh over, the damage had already been done. Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis finished the job for Australia, scoring an unbeaten 27 to secure the victory with 62 balls to spare.

Earlier in the match, George Munsey top-scored for Scotland with 28 runs, but Sean Abbott was the pick of the Australian bowlers, taking three wickets for 39 runs.
