England Women Secure 23-Run Victory Over New Zealand in Rain-Affected Match

England Women continued their dominance over New Zealand Women with a 23-run victory (DLS) in a rain-affected second match, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

England Women, invited to bat first in a rain-curtailed 9-over game, overcame the early loss of Danielle Wyatt for a 3-ball duck. Maia Bouchier (23) and Alice Capsey (28) provided crucial acceleration. Heather Knight added 15 runs off 8 balls, and Sophie Ecclestone's six off the last ball pushed England's total to 89.  

For the White Ferns, Lea Tahuhu and Amelia Kerr each took two wickets, while Hannah Rowe and Leigh Kasperek took one apiece.

Chasing 89, New Zealand Women struggled, losing wickets regularly. At 42/5 in 6.4 overs, rain interrupted again, and the match was called off. England Women won by 23 runs via the DLS method. Brooke Halliday was the only White Ferns batter to reach double digits. For England, Charlotte Dean took two wickets, while Nat Sciver-Brunt, Lauren Bell, and Sophie Ecclestone each claimed one.\
