India has named Tanuja Kanwar as the injury replacement for Shreyanka Patil in the Women's Asia Cup. Shreyanka has been ruled out after fracturing the fourth finger of her left hand during the opening match against Pakistan, where she played a crucial role, taking 2 for 14 in 3.2 overs. The Asian Cricket Council confirmed Kanwar's inclusion on Saturday, 20 July.

Kanwar, an uncapped spinner, impressed in the Women's Premier League (WPL) for Gujarat Giants, finishing with 10 wickets from eight matches and an economy rate of 7.13. She steps in for Shreyanka, who had previously suffered a hairline fracture on the same hand during the WPL but managed to finish the season as the highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets, helping Royal Challengers Bengaluru to their maiden title.
