Zimbabwe Announce Squad for Historic Test Match Against Ireland

 

Zimbabwe has named a 15-member squad for their inaugural Test match against Ireland, set to take place from July 25-29 at Stormont in Belfast. The team includes four uncapped players: Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Joylord Gumbie, and Johnathan Campbell, signaling a blend of youth and experience.

Craig Ervine will captain the side, bringing leadership and experience alongside seasoned players Sean Williams, Tendai Chatara, Blessing Muzarabani, and Richard Ngarava. This Test marks Zimbabwe’s return to the longest format since their series against the West Indies in February last year.

The squad aims to make a strong impression in their historic encounter against Ireland. The selection showcases Zimbabwe's intent to nurture new talent while relying on experienced campaigners to guide them through the rigors of Test cricket.
