History was made at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional East Asia-Pacific Qualifier A as Samoa’s Darius Visser shattered the record for most runs scored in a single over of a men’s T20I match. Facing Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko at Garden Oval No.2 in Apia, Visser hammered six sixes and benefited from three no-balls, amassing a staggering 39 runs in the 15th over.

This incredible feat surpassed the previous record of 36 runs in an over, famously held by Yuvraj Singh during the inaugural ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2007 and later matched by players like Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran.

Visser’s explosive innings didn’t stop there. He continued to dominate, finishing with 132 off 62 balls, including 14 sixes, and led Samoa to a crucial victory, their second in the tournament. This historic performance not only etched Visser’s name into the record books but also kept Samoa’s hopes alive for qualification in the 2026 T20 World Cup.
