Day 3 of the second Test between England and Sri Lanka at Lord's saw a thrilling battle unfold as the visitors chase a world-record total of 483 runs. England, resuming from their overnight score of 25/1, were dismissed for 251 in their second innings, setting Sri Lanka a challenging target.
Sri Lanka's chase got off to a cautious start, losing two early wickets. However, Dimuth Karunaratne and Prabath Jayasuriya held firm, reaching 23 and 2 respectively before stumps were drawn due to bad light.
England's second innings was highlighted by a superb century from Joe Root, who became only the fourth batter to score twin hundreds at Lord's. His 34th Test ton also saw him surpass Sir Alastair Cook as England's highest Test centurion.
