Day 1 of the Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh ended with Pakistan at 158/4 after just 41 overs of play due to a delayed start and bad light.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bowl, taking early control by reducing the hosts to 16/3. Shoriful Islam (2/30) and Hasan Mahmud (2/33) were the standout bowlers, with Hasan removing both Abdullah Shafique and the well-set Saim Ayub.

Ayub, who scored 56 off 99 balls, shared a crucial 98-run partnership with Saud Shakeel for the 4th wicket. Shakeel continued his impressive Test form, reaching his 7th half-century and remaining unbeaten on 57 from 92 balls. He and Mohammad Rizwan (17*) added an unbeaten 44 runs for the 5th wicket.

Play was disrupted due to a soggy outfield, leading to a loss of 49 overs, with only 41 overs bowled in the day. The match will resume on Day 2 at 9:45 AM local time, with Pakistan looking to build on their current total.
