A devastating display of seam bowling from the West Indies has left South Africa reeling on day one of the first Test.

The Proteas, opting to bat first after winning the toss, were bundled out for a paltry total, thanks to a fiery spell from Shamar Joseph and disciplined bowling from the entire attack.

The Caribbean seamers exploited the early morning conditions to perfection, with the trio of Seales, Holder, and Joseph proving too hot to handle for the South African batsmen. The top order was dismissed cheaply, and the in-form Bavuma was sent packing for a golden duck. Joseph, in particular, was unplayable, running through the middle order with a fiery spell.

The last wicket pair of Piedt and Nandre Burger offered some resistance, adding a crucial 63-run stand. However, it was too little too late as the Proteas were eventually bowled out for a below-par score. Joseph finished with impressive figures of 5-for, making a dream start to his Test career on home soil.

SA have been bowled out for 160.
